Donations: Gifts from a Vanco Download import Claim they are already Imported

When downloading Vanco donations, Church Windows checks for duplicates by comparing each gift’s date, giver, account, amount, payment method, and reversed properties. Any donations that match on all characteristics are marked as duplicates and not imported. This includes manually entered donations as well as imported donations.

Church Windows version 23.21.0 added the feature of checking for duplicates by comparing Vanco transaction ID’s in addition to the other characteristics. However, we have since learned that Vanco uses the same Vanco transaction ID for all recurring donations. So, in version 23.21.0, recurring gifts were being seen as already imported because they had the same ID.

Your Church Windows Support Team has a solution that will ignore the Vanco transaction ID’s until a more permanent solution is included in version 23.21.1.
