This document will explain how to fix errors caused by the host computer getting renamed, and now Church Windows will not open – getting ‘A connection to CHURCHWINDOWS could not be opened’ followed by ‘Object reference not set to an instance of an object’.

If you rename a computer that has Church Windows installed on it, this will ‘break’ the connection between Church Windows and its databases (causing the above errors).
